A SECOND CD!
Our partners in Latin America love Sonidos y Letras and are imploring us to create a second program. This new CD will include:
- More sounds and letters. Sonidos y Letras includes 10 letters. The second CD will include most of the alphabet.
- Lessons on syllables. The early stage of reading Spanish is largely about understanding syllables like ma, me, mi, mo mu; sa, se, si, so, su, and more.
- Creating words. Children will combine syllables to make words like mama, fruta, and camino (mother, fruit, and road).
- This will be a joyful and powerful CD!
REACHING MORE CHILDREN
It takes time and money to reach the schools and centers for people with disabilities who can benefit from our software. We hire translators, work with groups that travel to Latin America, and help cover costs when our partners travel to Latin America on our behalf. In 2010, we have reached new users in Ecuador and Guatemala. We have many more roads to travel and need your financial support!
TRAINING TEACHERS
In the USA, there are assistive technology specialists in many schools. In Latin America, there are very few. We have been able to support trainings that have made a huge impact. In March of 2009, we worked with 25 teachers in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, with a profound impact. We need financial support to continue and grow these efforts.
